My Approach

Nutrition has to work in real life.

Food is more than nutrients. It is culture, family, tradition and connection.

My own journey across cultures — and what I learned from my mother, my “Yoda” — continues to shape how I practice today.

YOUR FOOD. YOUR HEALTH. YOUR LIFE

I meet you where you are and help you build an evidence-based approach that works with the foods you love and the life you actually live.

HOW I CAN HELP

Your health is more than a number on the scale or your lab report.

I help you understand what’s changing and why and what matters for your health and what you can do next.

Beyond weight → Your bigger health picture

Beyond restrictive diets → Nutrition personalized to you

Beyond treating things separately → Connecting the dots

Beyond quick fixes → Sustainable Habits you can live with

Beyond generic diets → Your foods, culture, and life

FAQs

I am currently in network with Aetna, United Healthcare, Medicare, Wellpoint, Amerigroup and Horizon.

Yes. I provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for clients throughout New Jersey and also offer virtual nutrition counseling for eligible clients in select states. Many insurance plans cover nutrition counseling for conditions such as prediabetes, diabetes, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease and metabolic health support.

My approach combines evidence-based nutrition therapy with personalized guidance tailored to your symptoms, labs, lifestyle and long-term health goals

The most common procedure (CPT) codes for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) are 97802 and 97803.

Also inquire about coverage for diagnosis code Z71.3 (dietary counseling and surveillance). This is the primary code that a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) can use without a physician referral. If this diagnosis code is not covered, you may need a doctor’s referral to be eligible for coverage.

If you plan to use insurance for nutrition counseling, contact your insurance provider to verify whether Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) or dietary counseling is covered under your plan. Many insurance plans include these services under preventive or wellness benefits.

When you contact your insurance company, here are a few questions to ask:

  • Do I have coverage for Medical Nutrition Therapy using CPT codes 97802 and 97803?
  • Is nutrition counseling covered for my diagnosis or referral reason?
  • Is a physician referral required?
  • Are there limits to the number of visits allowed?
  • Do I have a copay, coinsurance or deductible?
  • Are nutrition counseling benefits available under diagnosis code Z71.3?

Document the date of your call, the representative’s name and your reference number for future records.

I strongly recommend verifying your benefits before your first appointment. I am in network with many insurance plans, but coverage and reimbursement are never guaranteed.

Insurance coverage for nutrition counseling varies by plan.

Even if your insurance company says a referral is not required, Registered Dietitians (RD/RDNs) cannot diagnose medical conditions. In many cases, a physician referral is still needed in order for claims to be submitted appropriately.

If your insurance does not cover nutrition counseling, private pay options are available. Payment is due prior to your appointment. I accept credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash and checks.

Private pay rates:

  • Initial consultation: $250
  • Follow-up consultation: $175

Discounted visit packages may also be available. Please contact the office for current package pricing.

As outlined in the financial policy, a credit card will remain securely on file in the event that insurance does not cover services or if a copay, deductible or coinsurance applies.

I kindly request at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or appointment changes. For example, if your appointment is Monday at 9:00 AM, notice must be provided by Thursday at 9:00 AM.

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will incur a $75 cancellation fee.
  • Missed appointments (“no-shows”) will incur a $100 missed appointment fee.

Fees will be charged to the credit card on file.
